At Hobe’s Country Ham, we are proud to be a family-owned and operated business, serving our customers since 1973. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Hobe’s was founded by our late grandfather, Hobert Gambill. He took immense pride in serving families at the table and providing exceptional quality country ham for over 40 years.
Hobert started curing ham back in 1971 and sold his products to local families from the trunk of his car. In 1973, he broke ground in North Wilkesboro and opened the first Hobe’s Country Ham location. With hard work and pride in his products, he was able to successfully expand and later build a separate curing facility in downtown Wilkesboro.
We are incredibly honored to say we are still family-owned and operated by the third generation, and we take great pride in continuing our grandfather’s name and tradition. Our goal is, and will always be, to preserve our family history and curing techniques to continue providing unsurpassed quality, service, and the BEST good old-fashioned country ham.
Now serving customers in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and South Carolina, we are still growing. Hobe’s is the original country ham provider in Wilkes County, and we still operate at both locations and continue to follow our founder’s original recipe for success.
