A ham steak is a somewhat thick cut of a moderate size that can feed a few people or an individual. In other words, it is versatile. It’s also versatile in terms of its cooking methods. Here are 3 ways you can cook your ham steak:

3 Ways to Cook a Ham Steak

1. Pan Fry- This is a quick and easy method that can help you get dinner on the table in 20 minutes or so. Simply coat a frying pan in oil or use a cooking spray. This will prevent the ham steak from sticking. You could use butter instead if you want to add more flavor. Once the pan is heated, place the ham steak inside and fry on both sides for a few minutes each until both sides are browned and warm.

2. Grill- Grilling your ham steak is a great way to prepare it, especially if you use a delicious glaze. Start by greasing the grill with oil and wait for it to heat up. Medium to high heat is best. Then, grill one side of the ham steak for several minutes until it’s brown. Flip it over, add your glaze if desired, and let the ham steak cook for a couple more minutes. Keep flipping and glazing until there are grill marks, then serve your ham steak with whatever sides you want.

3. Bake- Baking your ham steak is another easy and delicious method. Pre-heat your oven to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with foil and place the ham steak on top. Once the oven has reached the proper temperature, put the baking sheet with the ham steak inside and let it cook for about 30 minutes.
