Learn how to properly store and cook country ham slices.

Country ham slices can be used in great recipes such as Old Fashioned Skillet Country Ham, Sweet Potato Biscuits & Country Ham Slices, or Toasted Breakfast Wraps.

Storing Your Country Ham

You do not need to refrigerate our vacuum-packaged products, as long as you do not break the seal. Refer to the “best by” date stamped on the package. After you open the package, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Cooking Country Ham

If country ham is too salty for you, for a milder flavor, we recommend you soak in water or cola prior to cooking, approximately 30 minutes.

  • Fry—Wait to trim any excess fat from your ham slices after frying. Add a small amount of water & cola to your skillet (optional) and place your ham slice in the skillet. Cook slowly on medium high heat. Turn slices frequently over the next 4-8 minutes. Do not over-fry your ham for the best result.
  • Grill—Place your ham slices on the grill approximately three inches away from the coals. Cook each slice about two to three minutes on each side.
